ARTIST’S STATEMENT
have been designing and hand making jewellery for over twenty five years and have always loved being creative.
Originally I studied Art, Design and Graphic Design at college but I saw a Jewellery & Silversmithing course advertised and having always had a love of jewellery I knew I’d love to learn how to make it, I was hooked after making my first piece. Since that time I have worked under the guidance of two respected contemporary jewellery designer/goldsmiths and have also worked for many years in a designer jewellery gallery and then in a contemporary arts and crafts gallery alongside designing, making and exhibiting my own jewellery collections.
I am inspired by my surroundings in North Yorkshire and the natural world influences my work greatly. I use traditional jewellery making skills and techniques and work primarily in Silver but enjoy incorporating Semi-Precious Stones and Gold into my designs. All of my work is made by hand by me in my small studio, I feel passionate about the jewellery I make and take the utmost care and attention at all stages of production.
